Gurpreet Singh Jaura, born in 1998, carries this legacy forward with both academic excellence and entrepreneurial vision. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Guru Nanak Dev University, where he graduated as a Gold Medalist in 2021. His exceptional academic work and outstanding planning research earned him the National Best Thesis Award in 2022, recognizing the strength, originality, and professional quality of his thesis.

The foundation of the Jaura family business dates back to 1975, when Gurpreet’s grandfather established Jaura Jewellers in Nawan Pind, Amritsar, Punjab. Over the decades, the business grew as a trusted name known for genuine quality, fair dealing, and customer satisfaction. Today, the family jewellery legacy continues under the leadership of S. Balraj Singh Jaura, Gurpreet’s father and the owner of Jaura Jewellers, Nawan Pind, Amritsar branch.

This is not only a business history; it is a three-generation legacy of trust. Jewellery, land, service, and entrepreneurship have remained deeply connected with the Jaura family. S. Balraj Singh Jaura has also maintained a strong interest in land, real estate, and property development. With approximately 50 acres of agricultural and commercial land, along with rented shops and houses, the family has long-standing practical experience in property ownership, land value, and real estate management.

To expand the family vision internationally and continue his passion for planning, Gurpreet moved to Canada to pursue postgraduate studies in Project Management and Urban Design. His planning knowledge, professional discipline, and ability to understand both technical development processes and business realities have earned him recognition from experienced professionals in the planning field. His skills and dedication reflect the confidence others place in his ability to manage complex planning and development matters.

Today, through Jaura Jewellers and Planners, Gurpreet is expanding the family’s jewellery legacy through Jaura Jewellers Calgary, operating online in Canada, while also building a professional planning practice to support landowners and developers with planning approvals, Area Structure Plans, Municipal Growth Structure Plans, land-use redesignation, subdivision planning, development permit coordination, building permit guidance, concept plans, planning reports, and municipal application processes.
